Hey there! I’m Stefan, an American living in Australia. I made the move here in September of 2007, and like to think I’ve settled in to the lifestyle in Australia. I first moved here to be with my girlfriend (now fiance), and now easily call Australia home. While she and I met in San Francisco, it was easy to fall in love with Australia after seeing it all on a preview trip two years ago. Despite having lived in California for 28 years, it only took me 2 weeks to make me think that the lifestyle in Australia would fit me well. Come to find out, it did. So here I am, loving what Australia has given to me. While there are times I miss America, I’m sure I’d miss Australia more if I were in America, than vice versa.

While living overseas is often a once in a lifetime opportunity, I’ve been lucky to have lived in Spain as well. Spending a year in Barcelona introduced me (at the age of 15), to a worldly way of thinking. No longer did I believe that the American way of life was the way cultures throughout the world lived their lives, day to day.

I still travel significantly, however it’s primarily between Australia and America. Much of the time, at least in the upcoming year, will be to Hawaii, as we are getting married on Kaua’i. We chose this location due to the “middle ground” for relatives to get to the wedding. Besides, who really complains about going to Hawai’i.
