We work hard and then we say "no worries" to our mates that can't make it out for drinks. Your are right about the "influx of immigrants" - I find it strange how we end up with "sub-communities" with varying cultures and attitudes. I’m an Aussie… and most of us are still very friendly ;)

We know how quickly something can be done, how easily accessible a person is via black berry or tweeting. We just live in a I want it now, can't wait world...heck even the microwave is putting a rush on dinner. Never been to Australia, but would love to one day.
